Beeldleer scope note

Carlo CarrĂ 's "sound, smell" connection refers to his 1913 manifesto, "The Painting of Sounds, Noises, and Smells", which proposed that paintings should be the "plastic equivalent" of sensations beyond sight, aiming for a "total painting" experienced by multiple senses, like hearing and smell. He believed colors and shapes could evoke sounds and scents, advocating for dynamic elements and vibrant colors to capture the chaotic, emotional experiences of modern life, such as theaters, railways, and ports. He mentioned his works Funeral of the Anarchist Galli and Jolts of Cab. Furthermore the works State of Mind and Forces of a Street by Umberto Bocccioni and Gino Severini's Pan Pan Dance. Furthermore the paintings The Revolt and Music of Luigi Russolo and his actual Futuristic music together with the so called musical architecture of Francesco Balilla Pratella expressed in his La music futurist, manifesto tecnico of 1911.
